Hunan Police Crack Virtual Currency Investment Fraud Case, Seize 310 Grams of Gold
Odaily News According to the "Ping'an Tianjin Binhai" official WeChat account, police in Chenzhou, Hunan province have cracked a new type of investment fraud case involving virtual currency known as "two gold for cash," intercepting 7 packages containing fraud-related gold and seizing 310 grams of gold. The police investigation revealed that the criminals, under the guise of investment and wealth management, induced victims to purchase gold offline and ship it to designated addresses. The illicit proceeds were subsequently laundered through multiple transfers involving virtual currency exchange and overseas account transfers. Currently, the seized gold is being gradually returned to the victims, and the case is still under further investigation.
