Odaily News Google is close to finalizing an agreement to provide over $5 billion in funding for a data center project being developed by Nexus Data Centers in Texas, USA. Upon completion, the facility will be leased to Anthropic. The project spans approximately 2,800 acres and is expected to deliver around 500 megawatts of computing power by the end of 2026 at the earliest, with plans for further expansion.
Reports indicate that the data center will rely on natural gas pipelines, powered by its own gas turbines to reduce dependence on the public power grid. Google has previously provided TPU computing power support to Anthropic through Google Cloud, and this financing is seen as a further extension of their collaboration.
