Bloomberg Analyst: IBIT Achieves Positive Net Inflows for the Year, BTC Investors More Resilient Than Gold Investors

2026-03-25 12:00

According to a post by Eric Balchunas, Senior ETF Analyst at Bloomberg, on platform X, Bitcoin spot ETFs have already attracted net inflows of $2.5 billion this month, coming very close to fully offsetting the net outflows seen earlier this year. Among them, BlackRock's IBIT has taken the lead in turning its year-to-date net inflows positive and has entered the top 2% of all ETFs ranked by year-to-date fund flows. Against the backdrop of Bitcoin's price dropping approximately 40% over the past six months and facing widespread negative sentiment, ETF flows have demonstrated remarkable resilience. For comparison, when gold fell 40% within a short period a decade ago, about one-third of investors chose to exit, whereas Bitcoin investors have shown significantly stronger holding behavior. (Eric Balchunas clarified this is not meant to disrespect gold investors, but rather highlights the unusual nature of the Bitcoin situation.)
