Trump says Vance is involved in negotiations with Iran to end the war
Odaily News U.S. President Trump said on Tuesday that Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are leading negotiations with Iran and expressed optimism about reaching a deal. Sources from Iran told CNN that Tehran is willing to listen to "sustainable" proposals to end the war.
Meanwhile, Israel launched a new round of strikes against Iran, and Tehran also attacked Tel Aviv. An Israeli official said an agreement "does not seem practical at the moment." Two regional sources said Iran has indicated to the Trump administration that it does not wish to restart negotiations with envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, preferring instead to engage with Vice President JD Vance.
In addition, approximately 1,000 soldiers from the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division are expected to be deployed to the Middle East in the coming days. Republicans once again blocked a resolution that would have required Trump to seek congressional authorization for future military action against Iran.
