BlackRock CEO: Tokenization Could Make Investing as Easy as Mobile Payments
Odaily News BlackRock CEO Larry Fink stated in his annual letter that half of the global population carries digital wallets on their phones. Tokenization can update the financial system's infrastructure, making investments easier to issue, trade, and access, thereby turning digital wallets into investment tools as well.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved Nasdaq's launch of a tokenized stock trading pilot project last week. Nasdaq has also partnered with digital asset company Talos, aiming to make tokenized collateral available to institutional investors.
BlackRock currently operates the largest spot Bitcoin ETF. Last year, Larry Fink likened tokenization to the shift from postal services to email in the investment world. This year, his focus has shifted to the accessibility and scalability that tokenization brings to investing.
