Odaily News: Prosecutors in Taiwan, China, have indicted a total of 10 individuals, including Liu Yusen, the head of the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange "BITGIN" and its parent company, Bijin Technology, along with CEO Zhang Hansen and COO Zhang Yuting. The Zhang siblings face potential sentences of up to 12 years in prison. Prosecutors allege that the company collaborated with a fraud syndicate in 2023 to carry out scams and money laundering by providing USDT and coordinating offline cash transactions with "fake currency dealers." The case involves 46 victims, with fraudulent amounts exceeding 150 million New Taiwan Dollars. The related funds were transferred via crypto wallets and overseas exchanges to conceal their origins.
