The POAP platform will transition to maintenance mode starting March 16, and will no longer offer badge issuance functionality. Existing badge collections will not be affected.
Odaily News: Isabel, co-founder of the on-chain badge protocol POAP, posted on the X platform stating that due to limitations on platform growth, the team has decided to transition POAP into maintenance mode starting March 16, 2026. This means:
• For new issuers: After March 16, new issuers will not be able to access the issuer interface.
• For existing issuers: They can continue to use existing tools, and already created POAPs will remain intact.
• For collectors: The collector interface will not be affected.
• Technical support: APIs and existing integrations will continue to function.
• Core change: The platform will no longer undergo active development. As resources allocated to the service are reduced, the speed of certain operations may slow down.
Furthermore, the team plans to develop a new, more foundational, open, and truly permissionless standard for digital collectibles. POAP may potentially be integrated into this new system in the future (pending).
