Vitalik Explains Ethereum Foundation's Mission Statement: Ethereum Should Become a "Technological Safe Haven"

Odaily News: Vitalik posted on social media to interpret the Ethereum Foundation's new mission statement, "EF Mandate," stating that Ethereum plays a unique role in the global digital ecosystem. Its goal is to become a "technological safe haven" to uphold technological self-sovereignty and foster collaboration in an environment free from coercion and domination. He emphasized that Ethereum aims to ensure that no individual, organization, or ideology can achieve absolute control in cyberspace, while providing users with exit mechanisms.

Vitalik explained that the Ethereum Foundation will continue to advance the CROPS principles—Censorship Resistance & Capture Resistance, Open Source, Privacy & Security. At the protocol layer, it will prioritize decentralization, verifiability, network liveness, and security, while promoting capability upgrades, including account abstraction, to reduce reliance on intermediaries. Simultaneously, the Foundation will drive user experience improvements at the application layer that balance security, privacy, and user autonomy, and collaborate with ecosystem projects to advance Ethereum's development. Vitalik expressed his commitment to doubling down on Ethereum.
