South Korean Police Investigate Multiple Cases of Retaliatory Attacks Hired via Telegram and Cryptocurrency

Odaily News According to recent reports, multiple incidents of residential vandalism and intimidation, hired through anonymous Telegram groups and paid for with cryptocurrency, have occurred in South Korea. A suspect arrested by Gyeonggi Province police stated that he received cryptocurrency worth between $300 and $600 to place threatening letters and smear excrement in victims' mailboxes. Separately, the Suwon District Court issued an arrest warrant on March 1 for a man surnamed Lim, who is suspected of graffiti, scattering food waste, and spraying excrement at an apartment in Hwaseong City. Police in Anyang and Pyeongtaek have also previously reported similar cases, with the suspects involved claiming they were contacted via Telegram and settled their payments in cryptocurrency.
