A banking professional directly familiar with the negotiation progress stated that the banking representatives (from ABA Bankers, ICBA, and the Bank Policy Institute) who attended last week's White House meeting were puzzled by the related statements, did not agree with the anonymous source's viewpoint, and have already provided feedback on the situation to the White House.

The source also indicated that both sides of the negotiation are still in continuous communication regarding the bill's text, and the March 1st timeline is not a decisive deadline.
