QCP Trading Head: Tether's Increased Holdings of Physical Gold May Signal Asset Diversification Strategy, Bitcoin and Gold Can Coexist

According to QCP, its Head of Trading, Ivan Lee, stated in an interview with the Money FM 89.3 program that as gold strengthens, crypto assets are also being incorporated into a broader macroeconomic discussion framework. He pointed out that Bitcoin's narrative as "digital gold" emphasizes its scarcity characteristic more, rather than replacing gold's role in the global reserve system.

Ivan Lee noted that gold remains a widely accepted global reserve asset and can provide diversification support for crypto-related balance sheets. Meanwhile, Bitcoin and gold perform differently under various macroeconomic conditions; their price movements are not entirely consistent during risk-off environments and liquidity expansion phases, but the two can coexist within an investment portfolio.
