Cathie Wood: AI to Achieve Most Profound Applications in Healthcare
Odaily News Cathie Wood stated in a post on X platform that, according to ARKInvest's research, the most profound application area for AI will be healthcare. Deregulation is accelerating this transformation in the healthcare sector. The science of evaluating drug efficacy has made significant progress, with R&D projects collecting evidence across multiple dimensions such as mechanism of action, biomarker effects, and intermediate endpoints. This confirmatory evidence, ranging from mechanistic data to real-world evidence, can replace the second key trial. Historically, there has been greater regulatory flexibility in rare diseases and oncology. It is expected that this change from requiring two trials to one will have the greatest impact in common disease areas such as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. Each project is anticipated to save up to $350 million in costs and shorten the R&D cycle by several years.
