WisdomTree Launches 24/7 Trading and Instant Settlement Services for Tokenized Money Market Fund Shares

Odaily News WisdomTree announced that its WisdomTree Treasury Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX) has now launched 24/7 trading and instant settlement functionality. This marks the first time that registered tokenized mutual fund shares have been approved for 24/7 trading and instant settlement within the U.S. regulatory framework, utilizing a dealer-principal liquidity model.

The launch of this functionality required the coordination of multiple regulatory approvals, with several WisdomTree entities receiving exemptions from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Furthermore, WisdomTree's broker-dealer subsidiary, WisdomTree Securities, obtained approval from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) to expand its broker-dealer business to include proprietary trading of registered fund shares. Initially, this will enable 24/7 liquidity for tokenized money market fund shares, settled using stablecoins. (Businesswire)
