X Releases Important Update: Restricts Auto-Reply API, Non-Interactive Messages Cannot Be Sent Programmatically

Odaily News X Developers has released an important update aimed at tackling AI-generated spam. It is reported that the programmatic reply function via POST/2/tweets will be restricted. Programmatic replies will only be allowed when the original author is @mentioned or when quoting a tweet. Non-reply type tweets will maintain their current state but will not be allowed to be sent programmatically. This restriction will apply to Free, Basic, Pro, and Pay-Per-Use account types. Enterprise & Public Utility applications are not affected.

Previously, X's product lead and Solana advisor Nikita Bier stated that they would deploy "all available tools and strategies" to combat bot accounts and undisclosed AI-generated content accounts.
