Odaily News U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that it will stop collecting tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) starting at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on Tuesday (13:01 Beijing Time). Previously, the U.S. Supreme Court had ruled these tariffs illegal. CBP notified shippers via its Cargo Messaging Service (CMSMS) that all tariff codes related to former President Trump's previous orders issued under IEEPA will be deactivated starting Tuesday. Concurrently, Trump, invoking authority under another law, has imposed a new 15% tariff on global goods to replace the tariffs that the Supreme Court ruled illegal on Friday. (Jin10)
