Prediction Market Kalshi Partners with Game Point to Enter Institutional Sports Risk Hedging Market

This collaboration aims to provide sports clubs with an alternative to the traditional over-the-counter (OTC) reinsurance market, which often suffers from high entry barriers and low transparency. Although Kalshi offers trading in various contracts covering finance, weather, and cultural events, sports events have recently become a major source of trading volume and revenue. Following the start of the NFL season in September 2025, the platform's trading volume saw significant growth, with transaction volume reaching approximately $441 million in the first four days after the season began. It is reported that Game Point Capital underwrites hundreds of millions of dollars in sports insurance business annually, primarily covering risks related to team and player performance bonuses, including high-value contract bonus payments triggered by events such as playoff qualification and championship wins.
