Opinion: Aave Labs' New Proposal is Optimistically Anticipated, but the Process Requires Clear Disclosure and Transparency

Odaily News DeFi researcher Ignas posted on X, stating that Aave Labs has proposed a new initiative suggesting that 100% of the protocol's revenue be allocated to the DAO and that the Aave brand IP be granted to a new foundation.

Ignas believes that developers, business development personnel, and marketers should receive substantial rewards. After severing its own revenue stream, Aave Labs should apply to the DAO for an annual budget, but the process requires clear disclosure and transparency.

He pointed out that questions remain regarding who actually controls the new foundation. A recent proposal demanding the disclosure of voting addresses was vetoed by some unidentified wallets. If Aave Labs wishes to maintain control, they have an incentive to hold AAVE tokens.

Ignas hopes to see clear disclosures and to ensure that the granted 75,000 AAVE tokens are not used for voting. He also believes that the plan to migrate from v3 to v4 within 8 to 12 months is too fast, but overall feels optimistic about this proposal.
