X Product Lead: Plans to Launch Built-in Video Editing Feature, AI is Reshaping Content Production Methods

Odaily News X Product Lead and Solana advisor Nikita Bier stated in a post that plans are underway to build a video editing feature similar to those in other social apps directly into X. He estimated an engineering development cycle of about three months would be required. However, when attempting to prototype it himself using new tools, he completed a full browser-side video editor prototype in just about 15 minutes. This experience led him to believe that in the short term, AI tools could potentially replace parts of the functionality of traditional software suites like Adobe. He also predicted that with the advancement of AI, the demand for manual video editing could significantly decline in the coming months. Furthermore, he pointed out that as technological capabilities and user behavior change rapidly, product development is becoming exceptionally difficult because it will be very hard for companies to accurately judge the product form and demand structure several months into the future.
