The source stated that Iran will not accept negotiations on any other topics beyond the nuclear issue. Two US officials earlier revealed that the US government had formally informed Iran on the 4th, rejecting its request to change the location and format of the talks originally scheduled for the 6th. Both sides had previously agreed to hold talks in Istanbul with the participation of observers from multiple countries, but Iran requested on the 3rd to move the negotiations to Oman and conduct them in a bilateral format. After assessment, the US side believed that this move could weaken the effectiveness of multilateral coordination, hence insisting on the original arrangement.
