Japanese and South Korean stock markets rebounded sharply from yesterday's levels. The South Korean KOSPI index closed up 6.84% at 5,288.08 points. Chipmakers Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix were the biggest contributors. Samsung's stock price surged as much as 10% intraday, marking its largest single-day gain since March 2020.
