Argentine Crypto Scam Suspect Arrested in Venezuela, Previously "Fled with $56 Million Worth of Bitcoin"

Odaily News: Venezuelan police have arrested Generación Zoe scam suspect Rosa María González in San Cristóbal. The scam resulted in investor losses of at least $120 million. Leonardo Cositorto, head of Generación Zoe, previously stated that Rosa María González fled with 611 Bitcoins after the project collapsed in mid-2022, valued at approximately $56 million at the time. The investigation revealed that Generación Zoe attracted investors by promising returns as high as 7.5%, but it was actually a Ponzi scheme. Rosa María González had claimed that the trading algorithm she developed possessed quantum-safe features and could achieve a monthly return of 70%. During her escape to Venezuela, she allegedly planned a new fraudulent project, promising a minimum investment of $1,000 with a monthly return of 5%. Currently, diplomatic relations between Argentina and Venezuela are tense, making the extradition process difficult.
