Zcash Foundation Releases 2026 Strategic Priorities: Zebra, FROST, and Privacy-Preserving Aid Programs
Odaily News The Zcash Foundation has released its 2026 strategic priorities, which include:
1. The unique consensus node implementation Zebra: Focus will be on improving performance, completing the NU7 ZIP implementation, and advancing the Z3 tech stack to replace zcashd;
2. Continued advancement of the FROST threshold signature scheme: Plans include releasing version 3, finalizing ZIP-312, and introducing a Distributed Key Generation (DKG) protocol;
3. Privacy-Preserving Aid Programs: Promoting a "privacy-by-default" model for digital cash aid and exploring zero-knowledge proof-based identity solutions to strike a balance between compliance, accountability, and privacy protection.
Additionally, the Zcash Foundation announced plans to host three major events in 2026: Zcomm (online) on March 24th, the Zcash Dev Summit in Rome, Italy on May 8th, and Zcon7 in Cancun, Mexico from October 27th to 29th.
