Solana Daily Active Validator Count Falls Below 800, Down Over 65% from 2023 Peak
Odaily News The number of daily active validators on Solana has fallen below 800, dropping to levels seen in 2021. This figure represents a decline of over 65% from the peak of approximately 2,500 validators in early 2023. Validator voting transaction volume has decreased from around 300,000 per day to 170,000, a drop of 40%. The primary reason for the validator exodus is changes in economic incentives, including the gradual reduction over time of voting cost support and staking matching policies provided by the Solana Foundation Delegation Program. Despite the contraction in validator numbers, non-voting transaction volume, such as user-initiated DApp interactions and token transfers, has remained stable at around 100 million transactions per day.
