Backpack CEO: Solana Ecosystem Has Focused More on Financial Infrastructure Over the Past Year

"The network is increasingly being built around high-throughput on-chain transactions, market structure, and settlement—what people refer to as the internet capital market."

Ferrante noted that despite sluggish cryptocurrency prices and cautious crypto-native investors, institutional interest in cryptocurrencies remains high. The long-term development prospects for Solana, and blockchain as a whole, depend on their role as neutral settlement layers. In the future, assets like stocks and derivatives will flow seamlessly across platforms in the form of standardized tokens, rather than being stored in isolated databases.
