Bloomberg Analyst: Silver ETF Returns "Exaggerated" but Inflows Limited, IBIT's Counter-Trend Capital Attraction Signals Long-Term Bullish Outlook for BTC

2026-01-25 11:19

Odaily News Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas posted on the X platform, stating that the recent return performance of the silver exchange-traded fund SLV is "ridiculously exaggerated," yet its capital inflows are quite limited, attracting only about $1 billion in the past six months, and investors should pay attention to the risks. In contrast, although the BlackRock Bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund IBIT has experienced a price pullback of approximately 24%, it has still recorded net capital inflows exceeding $6 billion. This is a "very positive" signal for Bitcoin's long-term prospects because any ordinary ETF can attract capital during favorable market conditions, but the ability to consistently attract capital inflows during prolonged difficult periods is what makes a truly "hardcore" ETF.
