Casterman Founder: 2026 is a Critical Turning Point for the Crypto Market, Industry to Shift Focus to New Financial Infrastructure Construction
Odaily News André Casterman, founder of Casterman Advisory, stated in a post on the X platform that 2026 will be a critical turning point for the crypto market. The industry's focus has shifted from "whether crypto is needed" to building new financial infrastructure, with tokenization and digital assets transitioning from the pilot phase to regulated, production-level deployment. In terms of transaction banking, central banks and institutions have uniformly adopted a "wholesale-first" strategy for Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), tokenized deposits, and regulated stablecoins (such as USDC and RLUSD). The upcoming crypto market structure legislation will support institutional adoption. Once regulations are clarified, banks will heavily invest in areas like crypto trading. Digital currency forms will coexist and achieve interoperability, with blockchain becoming a parallel financial track, banks continuing to act as intermediaries, and the industry's focus shifting to building infrastructure under clear regulation.
