Foreign Media: Besant Hints at Potential Easing of US-India Tariffs

Odaily News According to a report by Politico, US Treasury Secretary Besant hinted in Davos on Friday that the US might cancel the additional tariffs imposed on India, as the 25% tariffs levied by the US have led to a significant decline in India's purchases of Russian oil. He described this move as a "huge success." Besant told Politico that due to the US tariffs, Indian refineries' purchases of Russian oil have "collapsed." He hinted that while the tariffs are currently still in effect, there is a diplomatic "path" to cancel them as long as India shifts its energy sources. He asserted that these trade measures have brought substantial benefits to the US economy.
