The committee is composed of experts including Scott Aaronson, Dan Boneh, Justin Drake, Sreeram Kannan, Yehuda Lindell, and Dahlia Malkhi. Its purpose is to assess the impact of quantum computing on the blockchain ecosystem and provide independent guidance. The committee's responsibilities include publishing position papers evaluating quantum risks, offering security recommendations for developers, and responding in real-time to major breakthroughs in the field of quantum computing. Additionally, Coinbase simultaneously disclosed its post-quantum security roadmap, which includes updating Bitcoin address handling methods, internal key management systems, and advancing support for post-quantum signature schemes such as ML-DSA within secure multi-party computation systems.
