Gate Launches New Podcast, First Episode Invites Michael Saylor to Decode How Digital Capital is Reshaping the World Order
According to Odaily, in the debut episode of Gate's new podcast series "GateCast: Zero to Takeoff" EP1, Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman and Founder of MicroStrategy, appeared as the inaugural guest. This key figure, who transitioned from a traditional tech entrepreneur to a Bitcoin "evangelist," delved into his unique perspectives on Bitcoin during the episode and explained how MicroStrategy completed its strategic pivot to becoming a Bitcoin reserve company. He believes that, in a sense, MicroStrategy is acting as "Bitcoin's central bank." By issuing digital credit products (such as STRC) pegged to the US dollar and backed by Bitcoin, it continuously channels traditional financial capital into the Bitcoin ecosystem, building a bridge between digital capital and traditional finance.
Addressing external skepticism that labels their model as "financial engineering," Michael Saylor stated frankly: "This is financial engineering, and there's nothing to be ashamed of." He emphasized that the core of MicroStrategy is not short-term leverage, but rather reshaping risk management through engineering: preferring to pay fixed costs long-term rather than having principal mature, in exchange for greater long-term certainty. He referred to Bitcoin as "humanity's premier asset" and "digital gold," and has led MicroStrategy to become the publicly traded company holding the most Bitcoin globally. He stated that the world will be built upon digital capital represented by Bitcoin, and its operation will rely on digital credit.
In the future, each episode of GateCast will invite an industry leader to share their unique viewpoints and valuable experiences, aiming to provide audiences with cutting-edge Web3 insights through face-to-face dialogue.
