Bitcoin Core Adds a New Trusted Key Holder with Commit Access

Odaily News: Bitcoin Core maintainers have increased the number of trusted key holders with commit access to the main branch for the first time since May 2023. On January 8, 2026, developer TheCharlatan joined the ranks of holders, bringing the total number of trusted key holders to six. The other five members are Marco Falke, Gloria Zhao, Ryan Ofsky, Hennadii Stepanov, and Ava Chow. TheCharlatan, a graduate of the University of Zurich, is primarily responsible for Bitcoin Core's reproducible builds and verification logic.
