X Product Lead's Claim That "Crypto Twitter Is Dying from Suicide" Sparks Controversy, Post Deleted Amid Suspected Pressure
Odaily News: Nikita Bier, X product lead and Solana advisor, posted on the X platform, stating that since October last year, a popular view within the Crypto Twitter (CT) community is that users need to achieve account growth by posting a large number of replies daily. However, he pointed out that frequent posting continuously depletes daily influence, while ordinary users only browse about 20–30 posts per day. The platform cannot fully push all content from the same user to their followers, leading some crypto users to excessively expend their influence on numerous low-value interactions like "gm," thereby reaching a limited audience when posting substantive content such as project announcements. Nikita Bier believes the decline in Crypto Twitter's influence stems primarily from the community's own behavior, not platform algorithm issues, and described it as "Crypto Twitter is dying from suicide."
The remarks subsequently sparked controversy within the crypto community. Crypto analyst and LedgArt co-founder KALEO stated that Nikita Bier failed to consider user growth and long-term active users, potentially weakening the crypto community ecosystem on the X platform, and publicly called for his resignation. Currently, Nikita Bier has deleted the aforementioned related tweets.
