VanEck: In a "Hyper-Bitcoinization" Scenario, Bitcoin Could Rise to Approximately $53.4 Million by 2050

Odaily News Global asset management firm VanEck has issued an extremely bullish long-term capital markets outlook, predicting that under a "Hyper-Bitcoinization" scenario, the price of Bitcoin could reach approximately $53.4 million by 2050. This scenario assumes Bitcoin maintains a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 29% over the next 25 years and becomes a significant settlement and reserve asset globally.

VanEck's analysis suggests that if Bitcoin could cover roughly 20% of international trade settlements and 10% of domestic GDP settlements, its implied value per coin would reach the aforementioned level. It could potentially account for nearly 30% of global financial assets, achieving a status comparable to or even surpassing that of gold.

Under a more moderate baseline scenario, VanEck forecasts a Bitcoin CAGR of about 15%, leading to a price of approximately $2.9 million by 2050. In a bearish scenario, the CAGR would be only about 2%, corresponding to a price of around $130,000. (decrypt)
