Odaily News Tether announced today a joint initiative with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). UNODC is a global leader in combating illicit drugs, transnational organized crime, terrorism, and corruption. Africa, as the world's third-largest and fastest-growing region for cryptocurrency, is also increasingly vulnerable to digital asset scams and fraud. In a recent operation conducted by Interpol in Africa, illegal cryptocurrency and fiat currency worth $260 million were seized, highlighting Africa's urgent need to strengthen cybersecurity to combat cybercrime activities.
