Barclays: Fed's Wait-and-See Stance Unlikely to Be Shaken

According to Julien Lafargue from Barclays Bank in a report, the revisions to the US payroll data from previous months, to be released tonight, will also be closely watched, as they should reveal the impact of the US government shutdown. Barclays doubts whether this data will significantly alter the current market expectations that the Fed will keep interest rates unchanged in the first quarter. Nonetheless, the chief market strategist noted that the upcoming employment report is "just one piece of the puzzle; other pieces include inflation and the upcoming US Supreme Court ruling on retaliatory tariffs."
