Odaily News Florida lawmakers are once again pushing for legislation to include digital assets in the state government's balance sheet. Following the earlier blockage of a related proposal this year, they have reintroduced a plan to establish a state-led cryptocurrency reserve program.
The bill was submitted by Republican Representative John Snyder on January 7th for the 2026 legislative session. House Bill 1039 (HB 1039) proposes the creation of a "Strategic Cryptocurrency Reserve Fund" independent of the state treasury system. It authorizes the Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage cryptocurrency asset investments under an established risk control framework. (CoinDesk)
