Telegram's First-Half 2025 Revenue Reaches $870 Million, Aims for Full-Year Revenue of $2 Billion
Odaily News According to unaudited financial statements, Telegram's revenue for the first half of 2025 reached $870 million, a 65% increase from $525 million in the same period last year. Approximately $300 million of this revenue came from exclusive agreements related to Toncoin. Despite a first-half profit nearing $400 million, Telegram reported a net loss exceeding $220 million due to a write-down in the book value of Toncoin. Toncoin's value fell by 69% in 2025, and the company disclosed that it has sold over $450 million worth of Toncoin this year.
Furthermore, affected by Western sanctions, approximately $500 million of Telegram's bonds have been frozen at Russia's central securities depository. The company is currently preparing for an IPO and has set a target of $2 billion in revenue for the full year 2025. Its founder, Pavel Durov, is still under judicial investigation in France. The company stated it is cooperating with the investigation, which has not yet had a significant material impact on its business. (FT)
