Nvidia invests $5 billion in Intel, providing crucial financial support.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Nvidia (NVDA.O) announced in a filing on Monday that it has purchased $5 billion worth of Intel (INTC.O) shares, finalizing a deal announced by the US semiconductor company in September. The leading AI chip designer stated in September that it would acquire Intel common stock at $23.28 per share. The deal was seen as a significant financial boost for Intel after years of missteps and the depletion of its finances through capital-intensive expansion. According to Monday's filing, the world's most valuable company has purchased more than 214.7 million Intel shares through a private placement at the agreed price. The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has approved Nvidia's investment in Intel, according to a statement released earlier this month. (Jinshi)
