Russian traffic police officer sentenced to 7 years in prison for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin through violent evidence collection.

According to Odaily Planet Daily, a traffic policeman in Ufa, Russia, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for stealing approximately 20 million rubles (about hundreds of thousands of US dollars) worth of Bitcoin.

The case dates back to 2022, when the police officer illegally obtained access to the mobile phones of two detainees during an investigation, transferring BTC through messaging apps and encrypted wallets, and also resorting to violence during evidence collection.
