Odaily Planet Daily reports that a netizen's family member fell victim to a scam impersonating the official website of the "Hong Kong Stock Exchange." After depositing money, they initially withdrew successfully four times, each time HK$100. Subsequently, the system prompted that taxes needed to be paid before further withdrawals could be made, and that the account would be frozen if taxes were not paid on time. The netizen has reported the incident to the police. The Paper's investigation found that the website is currently inaccessible. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange has issued a warning regarding such impersonation scams, and currently lists over 400 suspicious websites. However, the fake website named "Hong Kong Stablecoin Exchange (HSEX)" is still accessible. Its page design is highly similar to legitimate trading platforms, displaying cryptocurrency and virtual currency price fluctuations and offering deposit and withdrawal functions. (The Paper)
