According to a research report by Patrick Brenner, Cross-Asset Investment Manager at Schroders, gold is particularly attractive as a diversification tool for portfolio risk in the current highly uncertain US economic and policy environment. He noted that the US is facing "policy uncertainty, fiscal fragility, and growing investor concerns about the long-term role of US Treasury bonds and the dollar."
