Data shows that the number of U.S. government employees has decreased by about 9% this year, from 3.015 million federal workers in January to 2.744 million in November. Meanwhile, spending as of December 19th has increased from $7.135 trillion to $7.558 trillion, representing a growth of nearly 6%.
