Lummis serves as chair of the Senate Banking Committee's Subcommittee on Digital Assets and has been at the heart of congressional cryptocurrency regulatory legislation for many years, pushing for cryptocurrency tax reform and Trump's strategic Bitcoin reserve legislation. She stated that although she will not run for re-election, she will remain focused on pushing for significant legislation in 2026.
