Odaily Planet Daily reports that asset management platform Nexo has acquired Argentine cryptocurrency investment platform Buenbit; the specific transaction amount was not disclosed. This deal aims to deepen Nexo's presence in Latin America, enabling it to operate within the Argentine regulatory framework and reach Buenbit's user base in Argentina and Peru. Following the transaction, Buenos Aires will serve as Nexo's Latin American headquarters, supporting its expansion into Mexico and Peru.

Nexo operates in over 150 jurisdictions and manages approximately $11 billion in assets. Buenbit has registered with the Argentine National Securities Commission (CNV) to offer fiat-to-crypto asset services. Furthermore, the Central Bank of Argentina is drafting new regulations that plan to allow banks to offer cryptocurrency-related services to customers in the first half of next year. (CoinDesk)
