According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, U.S. Senators Kennedy (Republican, Louisiana) and Reed (Democrat, Rhode Island) have recently sent a private letter to the Senate Banking Committee, requesting that a public hearing be held before any market structure bill is moved to markup consideration.

The two senators emphasized that the legislation has far-reaching implications and requires fully transparent discussion. This move could further delay the market structure bill's progress, originally scheduled for mid-December.
