Securitize appoints former PayPal executive as general counsel in preparation for SPAC listing.

Odaily Planet Daily reports that asset tokenization company Securitize has announced the hiring of former PayPal Digital Assets Legal Head Jerome Roche as General Counsel in preparation for its Nasdaq listing through a SPAC owned by Cantor Fitzgerald.

The acquisition is expected to value Securitize at $1.25 billion and will be traded under the ticker symbol SECZ. Securitize plans to tokenize its equity and is the issuer of BlackRock's on-chain government bond fund, BUIDL. Roche stated that his professional focus is "at the intersection of regulatory compliance and technological innovation."
