A whale lost $4.66 million in principal after staking ETH for three and a half months.

According to Odaily Planet Daily, a whale (a cryptocurrency investor) experienced a situation where they "earned interest but lost principal" in ETH staking. In early August, this whale withdrew 4,000 ETH from Binance and deposited it into Lido for staking. Half an hour ago, they redeemed all 4,031 ETH and transferred it to Kraken. The staking period lasted 3.5 months, earning 31 ETH (approximately $80,000) in staking rewards. However, due to the price of ETH falling from $3,905 at the time of staking to the current $2,682, the whale lost approximately $4.66 million in principal.
