According to Odaily Planet Daily, the National Games mascot "Dawan Chicken" has recently seen a surge in popularity, driving explosive growth in sales of its related merchandise, exceeding 680 million yuan, reaching one-third of the annual sales of the popular IP Labubu in China.
Both "Dawan Chicken" and the Bing Dwen Dwen IP originated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. This week, they appeared on Weibo's main trending list 14 times, with the main topic garnering over 3 billion views; a single Douyin post exceeded 1 billion views; and the Xiaohongshu topic reached 130 million views.
On-chain data shows that the highest market capitalization of the Chinese IP Meme token Labubu reached $70 million, and the highest market capitalization of BSC Hakimi reached $96 million. Currently, a token with the same name as the Dawan Chicken has appeared on the BSC chain.
