Hassett: Willing to lead the Fed, he will definitely initiate larger interest rate cuts.
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, has informed President Trump that he would be willing to accept the nomination to succeed Jerome Powell as chairman of the Federal Reserve. He also emphasized that he prefers to implement a larger interest rate cut when monetary policymakers meet in December.
Hassett made it clear that if appointed chairman, he would push for a complete overhaul of the Federal Reserve’s research system.
Hassett stated, "If I were to lead the Federal Reserve, hiring world-class forecasting experts who truly build non-linear time series models would be a wise investment. I believe a leader with this understanding would help the Fed achieve better development." (Jinshi)
