Odaily Planet Daily reports that He Lifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, met with Greenberg, Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, and Orlins, President, in Beijing on the evening of the 12th. He Lifeng stated that China and the United States have broad prospects for cooperation in the economic and trade field. Both sides should meet each other halfway, jointly safeguard and implement the important consensus and outcomes of the Busan meeting between the two heads of state, strengthen cooperation, manage differences, and promote the stable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations. He expressed hope that the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations would make new contributions to promoting friendly cooperation between China and the United States. He Lifeng also briefed the meeting on the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The U.S. side stated that maintaining stable U.S.-China relations is very important and that they are willing to play a bridging role to promote deeper U.S.-China exchanges and cooperation.
