SBF's defense lawyers argued that the media and the court's hasty verdict led to his wrongful conviction.

According to Odaily, lawyers for FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried plan to file for a retrial in the appeals court, arguing that media attention, the prosecution, and the hasty ruling by U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan led to his wrongful conviction. The defense is requesting a change of judge and a reopening of the trial.

The legal team stated that SBF had no intention of defrauding customers, maintained his belief that user funds could be fully repaid, and accused Judge Kaplan of preventing him from presenting the key argument to the jury that "FTX had sufficient assets to repay users." It is understood that, in addition to the appeal, SBF's parents also sought a pardon from President Trump. (Bloomberg)
